& Technical Assistance

The National
Center on Education, Disability and Juvenile
Justice |
EDJJ provides technical assistance and training to public and correctional
schools, public agencies, court and justice officials and advocacy
groups concerned with youth at risk for delinquency or already involved
with the courts and corrections. As a collaborative national project,
we are in a unique position to assist with the design and delivery
of effective programs and services for youth whose multiple needs
often cross the traditional boundaries of child-serving agencies.
We are interested in strengthening the capacity of education, special
education and justice agencies to serve youth with educational disabilities
and deficits. To accomplish this, we provide consultation, technical
assistance and training for professionals and parents who are concerned
about improving educational opportunities and outcomes for at-risk
and court-involved youth. We work collaboratively with interested
individuals, organizations and agencies at the national, state or
local levels to tailor technical assistance and training geared
to specific needs.
We can provide assistance in a variety of formats, including:
 |
On-site consultation |
 |
Consultation via telephone |
 |
Professional development including regional forums and numerous
conference presentations |
 |
Facilitation of site visits to correctional education programs for
administrators
and practitioners in the field |
 |

 |
